This custom-built central electronics
cabinet matches the existing furnishings laminate. |
The rear view perspective of the empty electronics
cabinet shows the adjustable shelving, built-in cooling
ducts, left and right wiring raceways and radio frequency
small component mounting panel. |
| The electronics cabinet is built on
a widened base with hidden casters. The cabinet
rolls in and out for service access. |
The electronics cabinet is fully wired,
tested and disassembled before it leaves our shop. |
| We constructed this electronic
service panel complete with interior brackets. The
birch brackets give the panel a more secure attachment.
The wall mount service panel located directly behind
the electronics cabinet provides quick disconnects for
all cables including the sat TV antenna, amplified FM
antenna, component video cables, radio frequency coax
and speaker cables. |
An inverted AC outlet provides the plasma TV with a conditioned
power supply. The power conditioner is contained in the
electronics rack. |
The finished electronics cabinet with locking doors
installed. |
| In the case of ceiling
tile mounted speakers, the rigid bracket spans the
grid over the tile. This keeps the tile from eventually
sagging with curled up corners. |
| A pair of ceiling speakers
are mounted over the parts department showroom. |
A single dual-voice coil, dual-tweeter ceiling mount
speaker handles both left and right channels. This is
the perfect speaker for hallways and small rooms. |
| The wall mount brackets
are installed with liquid nails and set screws before
the speaker is mounted. Reinforcing the drywall
makes for a more secure structural mount and provides
a rigid baffle. |
| Two wallmount speakers
are mounted upside down and high overhead in the
main entrance. The frame and grill are dyed to color
match the wall paint. |
| These speakers can be
selected to play either the background music or
the plasma TV’s supporting soundtrack as part
of a dual zone scheme. |
| We designed an arena-style
steel mounting bracket. The bracket system was finished
in glass particle paint for permanent anti-corrosion
protection. |
Four Boston Acoustics
Voyager speakers.
The cable mounting system is rated to carry a
3000 lb. load. |
The arena array mounted
over the main showroom. |
A buried landscape
speaker is located on each side of the main entrance.
The wires are run through underground PVC conduit. |
Six stereo volume controls
are strategically located around the facility
for local adjustment. |
The satellite TV dish antenna is mounted on pressure-treated
stock which is attached by concrete anchors.
An
amplified FM antenna is mounted inside and concealed
above the ceiling.
A 27-inch television
in the children’s playroom constantly plays
a rotation of Disney DVD movies. |
A 27-inch television in the customer lounge displays
any one of the satellite TV channels. An infrared repeater
allows full control of the centralized video sources. |
A 27-inch television overhead in the parts showroom
plays a DVD feature on the company and its products. |
| All three conventional
TVs can select satellite TV, DVD 1 or DVD 2. Each 27-inch
TV mount received a substantial structure built into the
wall to support the considerable weight. |
This custom millwork adapts the plasma TV mount to a
curved wall. |
A 42-inch plasma TV
is mounted in the entrance. The plasma can select
any of the video sources via remote control of
a high-resolution A/V switcher. The accompanying
overhead speakers can play a coinciding video
soundtrack or one of several music sources. |
The conference room features a projector and pull-down
screen. |
The custom-made white
ABS trimplate neatly integrates the projector
bracket into the ceiling. |
The projector fully
recesses into the ceiling.
The overhead fixtures are mounted to a heavy
unistrut framework built above the ceiling grid.
Attachment to the ceiling grid is strictly cosmetic. |
A fixture flushed into the conference table top provides
AC outlets, voice, data and a laptop port to the overhead
projector. The lid closes allowing wires to pass through
while concealing the outlets and connectors. |
Under the conference
table a cabinet conceals the cables and floor
junctions. |
An Infrared target is mounted to the screen enclosure.
This transfers remote control commands to a concealed
two-channel receiver. |
Wallmount speakers provide audio from the same wall
as the screen. The speakers are dyed to match the conference
room walls. |
A receiver is concealed in this cabinet. The receiver
accepts the audio output of the laptop and has multiple
inputs to accept other training formats. An infrared emitter
is attached to the face of the receiver. This cabinet
also contains the infrared repeater’s power supply
and connecting block. |
Connectors in the cabinet allow quick-release of AC
power, audio input, antenna, infrared lead and speakers. |
Several views of the completed conference room. |
The Sirius satellite tuner in the upper left corner
of the cabinet. Sirius radio constitutes a majority
of the dealer’s background music. |
The Sirius antenna cable is protected by PVC tubing. |
The Sirius exterior antenna is mounted via a pressure-treated
2x6 which is anchored to the block wall with concrete
hardware. |
