Baja Outlaw 30 in red, black and blue gets audio and lighting transformation.

Baja Outlaw 30 in red, black and blue gets audio and lighting transformation. This full custom package uses factory vinyl and Baja graphics for a touch of understatement and neutrality.

AUDIO

Factory equipped Clarion CD source unit is iPod, Sirius and CD changer ready. A hardwired remote at the helm will control all sources. The display remote control provides full function confirmation.

Within the glove box we installed an iPod port just under the DC power connector. We also added an adjustable iPod holder which works with every iPod from the Nano on up. The port is hardwired to the Clarion auxiliary input for a clean signal. In this scenario the menu remains on the iPod. We have multiple iPod options including operation from the dash remote control.

Just inside the cabin a Clarion 7-band equalizer provides triple zone control (front to rear cockpit and dedicated sub level) plus a built-in six times 7-volt line driver. The extra voltage is instrumental in driving six amplifier inputs. The result is you get the music’s full contrast and clarity.

A Boston Acoustics five-channel amplifier features fan-cooling and twin power supplies. The custom amp shroud is covered in a silver carbon fiber patterned vinyl. The amplifier is viewed through a polished aluminum grill with a solid aluminum Baja logo badge at the center.

Vinyl clad birch wiring raceway conceals all cables run through the head.

High and forward in the cockpit combing we added two bolsters wrapped in factory Baja vinyl. Each sports a raised Baja logo. The bolster’s edges are trimmed in black piping.

A starboard side bolster recesses dual Polk MOMO mids and tweeters. Doubling up on the drivers at the front of the cockpit is a vital solution in a go-fast performance boat.

A custom three-dimensional fiberglass pod on the port side re-directs the speakers for a more optimum listening angle. The pod nullifies the angle in the interior mold. Now both left and right speakers are positioned symmetrically.

Polk MOMO integral speakers feature component quality drivers in a coaxil configuration with sophisticated outboard crossovers. Recessed in the rear cockpit combing pockets the Polk speakers are perfectly aimed at the rear bench seat occupants.

The rear subwoofer vents are patterned after the classic Baja swoop image. The polished aluminum layers are accented with a black acrylic trim ring. The smaller swoop is powdercoated to match the Baja’s blue appointments. Black powdercoated solid aluminum badges received an engraved Baja logo. Stainless steel mesh inserts conceal the console interior while allowing bass radiation to freely vent. All polished aluminum is powdercoated in a high gloss clear to maintain the chrome-like luster long term. The two vents are constructed from twelve individual pieces.

We have four distinctive Baja packages including the Swoop (shown), Edge, Flame and Flow editions. From polished to multi-color layering, the options are endless.

Within the rear bench seat console, a waterproof polyurethane enclosure houses two Polk MOMO downfiring ten-inch subwoofers. The enclosure is mounted with aluminum brackets and elevated with polymer risers.

LIGHTING
Overhead in the combing pockets we added a switch on each side to control the factory courtesy lights. These switches are interactive so that either switch can turn both lights on or off regardless of the other switch position. This puts the control in the hands of the rear seat occupants who are closest to the lights.

We converted the factory courtesy switch to control the new LED light package. A combination of blue interior lights (softer) and red exterior lights (brighter) conform to the factory colors used in the cockpit vinyl and hull graphics.

Dual steps lights at the front of the cockpit.

Four step lights at the rear of the cockpit.

Dual courtesy lights overhead in each upper combing pocket illuminate the drink holders.

Recessed 15-inch lights bars in each of the lower combing pockets.

Upper and lower LED bars light up the engine compartment vents. The LED bars are conformally coated and installed in watertight clear D-tubes. The red creates a fiery effect.
