MALIBU 247 IN BLACK AND PURPLE
GETS EQUIPPED WITH PREMIUM AUDIO AND LIGHTING.

The owner picked a great color combo because this boat received lots of compliments while we worked on it.

On the tower oversized Bullet chrome pods including matching tweeter pods, are loaded with JL Audio marine components. The tower version of these drivers are designed for a very small displacement versus infinite baffle. The pods interior are treated with dynamat and damped with polyester fiber. The result Is the best midbass and smoothest response of any tower speakers to date. Chromed billet grills on the tower midbass and tweeters follow the spoked pattern of the Polk dB speakers used in the boat. These same billet grills can also be powdercoated silver to identically match the color of the in-boat Polk.

Polk dB speakers in the bow. Features include adjustable-angle tweeters, 2nd order high-pass crossover, Ferro fluid cooling and high-roll surrounds on the midbass.

Polk on the dash.

Polk in the cockpit side coaming pockets.

Fourth pair of Polk coaxils at the rear of the cockpit.

Clarion CD source unit with triple preamp output for separate in-boat (front) tower (rear) and sub level controls. The Clarion also controls an iPod.

Three redundant level controls underdash provide more convenient access to the triple zones.

Underdash a digital display remote control on the left hand side versus the typical right side. The remote also controls the iPod menu.

Second remote at the cockpit rear.

  Third transom remote.

Within the port locker we installed two four-channel Boston Acoustics fan-cooled amplifiers.

The larger four-channel drives the tower speakers high-pass and the subwoofer bridged-mono low-pass.

The smaller four-channel drives eight combing coaxils high-pass. Birch amp mounting panels are covered in marine-grade carpet and conceal all wiring.

Under the driver’s helm console we installed a Boston Acoustics G5 10-inch subwoofer. There was barely space between the heater and façade, which was still able to lean forward as original. The B.A. G5 sub can hit with authority and still delivers the most accurate tonal construction available.

This system sounds outstanding. There’s plenty of output. Most impressive is the seamless integration between sub and satellite speakers.

Lighting

Step lights at the floor are a great addition to the standard courtesy light locations.
