Recieves a Salon Big Screen

In the salon of this Sea Ray 320 Sundancer we installed a 20-inch LCD monitor. Located just over the entry to the aft cabin, the screen is viewable from the salon and v-berth. To ensure a bright and crisp picture we employed a video amplifier to send the DVD player’s output over the long cable route. A splitter and coaxil cable were added so that both the gallery and salon TV screens can receive local broadcast, cable or satellite TV.

A custom built shroud conceals the mounting and wiring yet allows access to the LCD’s controls via a gap at the top.

In another Sea Ray 320 Sundancer, at the fore end of the gallery, we removed the factory TV/VHS combo and replaced it with a 15-inch LCD TV and DVD player.

In the photo the LCD is angled toward the v-berth for a perfect view from bed.

Alternatively the LCD can be swiveled toward the couch for an ideal picture from the salon.

We constructed a custom structure to fill the cavity previously occupied by the tube TV. A matte-finish ‘black’ plastic laminate covered the face. Just below the LCD TV a DVD player is flush-mounted. The articulating swivel bracket was modified with a tensioning bolt in order to resist movement in rough water. The side of the LCD provides triple A/V jacks for a playstation, video iPod or camera.
