Cobalt 232

with Alpine Electronics and JL Audio speakers.

Alpine marine source unit in the glove compartment.

iPod plug exits in the glove box through a custom trimplate.

Alpine display remote controls at the helm and transom provide full iPod functionality.

Two concealed Alpine Class D amplifiers are highly efficient and extremely friendly to the charging system.

A 5-channel drives the sub and four cockpit coaxils while a 4-channel drives the bow and transom coaxials. The fader operates between all in-boat and transom speakers providing distinct interior and exterior zones. Plus, this triple preout source unit has a dedicated sub level control which is also accessible from the remote controls.

JL Audio free-air marine 10-inch subwoofer installed in the starboard side coaming. The fiberglass mounting surface was reinforced from the back side with a ¾-inch thick baffle ring set. This provides rigidity for improved bass and properly seats the mounted hardware.

JL Audio coaxials in the transom for projecting to swimmers or rafters relaxing behind the boat while at rest or beached. Polished KingStarboard polymer contour rings are shaped to conform and seal up to the positive and negative transom radiuses.

To the interior of the transom we added ¼-inch thick aluminum bulkhead plates to act as a bridge to replace any structural strength that may have been removed due to the speaker installation.

From a pure musicality standpoint it would be hard to find a better sounding marine audio system.

 On another Cobalt:

We fabricated polished aluminum panels to house the factory switches plus an in-dash equalizer.

This Cobalt tower received four Bullet HollowPoint 770 HLCD tower speakers.
