H2 STEREO!
This Crownline 202 is equipped with ten speakers but the biggest benefits come
from the installation details.
The
factory CD player features front and rear preamp outputs plus
a CD changer input that can be expanded to an auxiliary for
an iPod. The fader operates ‘front’ for
every speaker within the boat and ‘rear’ for the tower speakers.
This allows the boat or tower to be independently zoned in or out with any blend
in between.
Concealed under the dash, a JL Audio four-channel amplifier drives the cockpit
and tower speakers. The CD player drives the bow speakers only.
Under
the driver and passenger helm consoles we added a pair of Bazooka
marine 8-inch coaxils. This oversized speaker delivers the
mids and highs from the most important location on the boat
and has the surface area to produce good bass. To make room
the courtesy lights are relocated.
.
Starting
with the bow we upgraded the four factory speakers to Alpine 6
1/2-inch marine coaxils.
Shown at the rear of the cockpit are Alpine
6 1/2-inch marine coaxils.
We built and installed carpet-clad
birch enclosures around the rear speakers. This provides
acoustic isolation between the face and backside of the
speaker thereby improving the bass response and increasing
the power handling.
Split wings suspend four
chrome bullet pods from just two collars. The black powder-coated
wings conceal the wiring within an internal raceway.
Only a very short single loom is visible from the wing
to tower. The wing system offers a very streamline look.
HERE’S A TWIST ON ANOTHER CROWNLINE
Transom of Crownline 202 with stainless steel
receptacles for removeable speakers.
Boston Acoustics Voyager 5 waterproof 2-way
speakers, available in white or black. Options also include
the Voyager 4, 5, 6 and 7.
Each side has a female binding post and male
banana jack quick-disconnect system concealed under the engine
compartment hatch.
These speakers are designed to be installed for temporary
use when at the party cove, a private cove or while in the
slip. The speakers remove and store away when motoring. Removal
and installation is easy, requiring no tools and taking just
seconds. We’ve done this procedure on a variety of
boats.
