This black and white Crownline 270 has
a large 2 3/8-inch forward leaning tower. Oversized 8-inch diameter
speaker pods were needed to balance against the larger tower. |
| |
|
 |
We placed the black powdercoated pods high and to
the outside to avoid a conflict with the bimini top. The staggered
positions look awesome. |

The Bullet pods are loaded with Polk Audio dB Series
oversized 6 ¾ -inch coaxils.

Custom ¾ -inch thick billet aluminum grills
are polished to a high gloss around the perimeter and received a brushed
treatment on the face. The grills are then powdercoated in gloss clear
to magnify the brushed grain and eliminate dulling caused by oxidation.

|
Frosted acrylic difusser
rings disperse 33 ultra-bright LEDs per speaker. In addition
to the perimeter, eight slots in the billet grill create
a rear view effect. |

Mounted in the driver’s helm console,
a JL Audio six-channel amplifier powers the system.

In the port side combing we installed a Clarion marine
free-air 10-inch subwoofer. Internally we added a resin-coated ¾ -inch
thick birch baffle to reinforce the combing fiberglass. The added
rigidity significantly improves the bass performance. We also installed
an isolation chamber behind the nearby 6 ½ -inch speaker which
is another key ingredient in achieving quality sound. |
