This black and white Crownline 270 has a large 2 3/8-inch forward leaning tower. Oversized 8-inch diameter speaker pods were needed to balance against the larger tower.

We placed the black powdercoated pods high and to the outside to avoid a conflict with the bimini top. The staggered positions look awesome.

The Bullet pods are loaded with Polk Audio dB Series oversized 6 ¾ -inch coaxils.

Custom ¾ -inch thick billet aluminum grills are polished to a high gloss around the perimeter and received a brushed treatment on the face. The grills are then powdercoated in gloss clear to magnify the brushed grain and eliminate dulling caused by oxidation.

Frosted acrylic difusser rings disperse 33 ultra-bright LEDs per speaker. In addition to the perimeter, eight slots in the billet grill create a rear view effect.

Mounted in the driver’s helm console, a JL Audio six-channel amplifier powers the system.

In the port side combing we installed a Clarion marine free-air 10-inch subwoofer. Internally we added a resin-coated ¾ -inch thick birch baffle to reinforce the combing fiberglass. The added rigidity significantly improves the bass performance. We also installed an isolation chamber behind the nearby 6 ½ -inch speaker which is another key ingredient in achieving quality sound.

Tweeters were added to supplement the factory dual cone speakers in the front of the cockpit where their impact is greatest.
