SEA RAY 47 Sedan Bridge

Gets KVH , video, instrumentation, underwater lighting and a premium exterior audio system.

Factory source unit, changer, iPod connection and cradle overhead on the flybridge.

Remote controls at helm console and lower aft deck.

Two rocker switches marked 'Interior' and 'Bullets' separately turn on or off all the flybridge and aft deck speakers or all the external Bullet pods by controlling the amplifiers. Three remote level controls operate JL Audio line drivers that in turn provide individual zone controls labeled 'aft', 'cockpit' (lower aft deck) and 'bow'. These remotely controlled line drivers avoid long 'to' and 'from' audio cable runs. Also, the line drivers provide considerably more line level voltage than would otherwise be divided among 14 amplifier inputs. The Clarion source unit fades between all flybridge /lower aft deck speakers and all exterior bow and transom speakers. We also utilized the Clarion's dedicated sub level control.

Three JL Audio amplifiers provide a total of fourteen channels, two of which are bridged to drive the subwoofer. The amplifiers are attached to a custom mounting panel and concealed under a seating console. Because of the conservative approach, which maintains a 4-ohm load throughout most of the system, these amplifiers barely get warm when run for long periods.

Two pair of JL Audio 6½ -inch installed over the rear section of the flybridge in order to surround the two captains' chairs. This provided ambience and minimized the directional and localizing effects of having speakers in such close proximity to listeners.

At the rear of the flybridge a downfiring JL Audio acoustic suspension 10-inch sub is loaded into a poly-coated waterproof enclosure. Two louvered vents allow the bass radiation to freely flow from the bench seat console.

Fiberglass mesh to the interior of the vents keep the bugs out. JL Audio makes two marine subs. One is designed for a small sealed enclosure while the other is intended for free-air or infinite baffle applications.

To the front of the cockpit we used oversized 7.7-inch coaxials to provide a little extra midbass since they are more removed from the aft subwoofer.

Within the overhead of the lower aft deck a pair of 6 ½ -inch coaxials.

JL Audio 'T' series 7.7-inch coaxials are optimized for small pod displacement versus the free-air application of the 'C' (cockpit) version. These oversized coaxials are fitted into 8-inch diameter powdercoated spun aluminum pods. The pods feature dual quick-release clamshell brackets for easy removal and reinstallation. Quick-disconnect waterproof deck plugs also make R&R convenient. No tools are required.
These speakers do a great job of flooding the bow deck with sound. Perfect for sun bathing or star gazing. The individual zone controls are a must.

Two pair of JL Audio 'T' oversized 7.7-inch coaxials project music over the swimdeck and out into the water. They're perfect for relaxing on a raft or for swimmers. Plus, these exterior speakers have their own zone control allowing you to isolate, eliminate or blend in with the rest of the system.

A DirecTV satellite receiver has high-definition cable connections to the salon LCD TV, stateroom LCD, and flybridge LCD plus a composite cable to the helm E-120 Raymarine chartplotter. The Sat TV and salon DVD player use UHF digital modulation for distribution to all TVs throughout the entire boat. A radio frequency remote control for Sat TV adds wholeboat control.
A high-isolation AB switch selects between the KVH TrackVision in-motion antenna and a boathouse DirecTV antenna.

A concealed custom panel recesses an AC outlet, antenna connection, HDMI jack and stereo RCA jacks. The RCAs deliver the video soundtrack to the Clarion source unit for complete audio impact on the flybridge.

A 32-inch LCD TV was added to the flybridge. A Sunbrella protective cover will be added. The cover will be designed to function as a safe carry and storage bag.

The LCD TV is removable. A powdercoated aluminum stanchion fits into a console-mounted socket. A pin key keeps the TV from freely rotating. A KingStarboard polymer strikeplate protects the top of the powdercoated socket.
