EARMARK designed and installed this cockpit audio system for a professional football player. The owner requested the system play loud and clean. To do the job, we needed a lot of power and a lot of speaker surface area.

Since the boat was being delivered to the coast, all exterior components have to stand up to a salt rich environment.

We added a hideaway Sirius satellite radio tuner and installed a white marine stalk antenna atop the radar arch.

Above the factory source unit, we installed two level controls. A dual-amp-balancer fades between the six flushmount cockpit speakers and the radar arch speakers. A sub-level control provides dedicated volume of the two cockpit subwoofers. The source unit’s fader is used to vary between the cabin and cockpit systems.

The source unit, changer and level controls are normally concealed.

A waterproof digital remote control at the helm also provides visual confirmation of volume, source and other key features.

We added a second remote control to the transom. This can be accessed from the aft seating by simply reaching over the cushion. Or, this remote control can be reached from the swim platform. A separate circuit backlights the controls at night in conjunction with the navigation lights.

A 900 watt Boston Acoustics six-channel amplifier is mounted under the salon’s sliding couch. This amp features onboard fan cooling.

With the couch cushion installed, the amplifier is permanently concealed.

Shown are the starboard and port helm speakers which we upgraded to MB Quart.
The single arch speakers were replaced with two MB Quart on each side. A polymer trim panel allowed us to keep all four speakers low in the arch for better midbass performance.
Centered under the arch and mounted to the far rear of the arch, a pair of Boston Acoustics Voyagers are directed over the transom. With their independent volume control and 180 degrees swivel capability, the Voyagers are perfectly suited to project long distances to the bow, slip or those rafting behind the boat.
Concealed in the aft seating are dual 10-inch subwoofer enclosures. The three vents are virtually invisible.
A louvered vent allows bass radiation to escape the console.
Off to the side two vents are hidden between the consoles.
With the motorized engine compartment hatch partially lifted all three vents are exposed.
Each 10-inch downfiring enclosure features a JL Audio W3 woofer. The totally waterproof enclosures are elevated of the deck 2-inches by aluminum brackets and polymer spacers.
