Earmark delivered a stylish installation with some very functional
features
on this yellow Supra 22V.
We started with a Sony MP3 CD player which delivers triple 4-volt
pre-amp
outputs. This unit packs some dynamic output for driving external
amplifiers.
A hardwired remote control on the transom.
We built a custom polymer docking cradle for a personal MP3 player.
The MP3 output is accessed via the Sony CD player’s changer input
with the
use of a Unilink expansion module.
A DC cigar receptacle was installed in the immediate proximity of the
personal MP3 player.
A Sony 10-disc CD changer also plays MP3 discs and has an electronic
buffer
memory for skip-free operation if the ride gets a bit choppy.
A custom amp panel staggers and overlaps two amplifiers so that eight
channels of amplification fit in without consuming valuable storage
space.
We added a dual battery selector switch plus an auxiliary battery and
matching enclosure. For playing the stereo at anchor, this feature is
a
must.
Two marine switches with watertight boots were added to control the
overhead
halogen lamps and a courtesy light package. Multi-pole 3-position
switches
were used to allow selective and versatile operation of the various
lights.
This Supra came equipped with six Kenwood marine coaxils that were in
good
condition so we kept them in the otherwise all new system.
The gray grills were faded so we removed and re-dyed them for a new,
crisp
appearance.
A Boston Acoustics G2 12-inch subwoofer receives a chrome spider
grill on a
recessed baffle wrapped in a yellow marine vinyl. A carpeted facade
covers
the sealed enclosure.
A Mako chrome combo on the tower features four MB Quart speakers, five
halogen lamps and two downcasting courtesy lights.
LED step lights are positioned over each of the six coaxil speakers
while
the subwoofer received an overhead LED light bar.
At night the LED light package creates an impactful effect.
