This demo boat was
built for the Summer Dallas Boatshow. The tower on this Supra
24 SSV is loaded! Six speakers, twelve halogens and 198 LEDs.
From tower to trailer its decked out with the best.
An
iPod dock suspended underdash. A single cable provides DC power,
battery recharger and audio. The control is maintained on the
iPod for full, high speed menu.
Within
the gul wing cushion of the forward observation seat is a 15-inch
widescreen This unit also is dual source. The factory shock
has been replaced with a model specifying 10 LBS more load.
Within
the port side locker an amplifier rack also contains a DVD
player and Sony Playstation. A switch just above the Playstation
controls a concealed DC to AC inverter. A remote control
infrared target is positioned in the combing pocket. Two
radio frequency Playstation controllers provide wireless
convenience.
Two Boston Acoustics four-channel amplifiers,
fan-cooled and boasting 1-ohm stereo stability, are the perfect
choice to drive fourteen coaxils and a 12-inch subwoofer.
The six factory speakers were upgraded to Polk
dB 6 ½ -
inch coaxils. Throughout the project every graphite grill
was dyed gloss black to follow the boat’s color scheme.
New
speaker locations were added in the passthru between the helm
consoles. The coaxils are recessed in birch bolsters clad in
vinyl and trimmed with piping.
Located under the ear observation seat is a
downfiring JL Audio 12-inch subwoofer. The subwoofer enclosure
is first sealed, then covered in marine-grade non-mildew rubber-backed
carpet and elevated with aluminum bracketry and polymer risers.
The Supra ‘S’ vent allows the bass radiation
to freely flow. The custom aluminum vent is powdercoated
and clearcoated. A stainless steel mesh treated with an etching
primer and finished in a black glass particle paint.
Throughout
the boat we added powdercoated aluminum appointments in support
of the black and dark red scheme.
The tribal wing is powdercoated
red to contrast the black tower. All four collars are powdercoated
black to match the tower and eliminate clutter. Same as
the wing, the light bars are powdercoated in red. Again,
for contrast the twelve halogen lamps and six speaker
pods are in black. The tribal wing conceals much of the
wiring for the speakers and light rings. This design
nets a total of fourn collars to suspend twelve halogen
lamps, six speakers and six light rings. Even jumping
from the 1 7/8 – inch rail to the 2 ¾ -
inch rail is done internally without service loops. VERY
CLEAN!
The
three factory step lights around the deck perimeter were replaced
with red color-matching LED fixtures. Each fixture contains
six diodes. Knurled aluminum bezels that conceal the LED lights
are powdercoated to tie in with the reoccurring cosmetic theme.
We also added red courtesy lighting under the driver’s
helm concole and to both combing pockets.
The
Supra badges in the combing pockets received a backlit treatment.
Forward
oriented step lights added to the bow and tied into the factory
courtesy lights circuit.
Six
speaker light rings with 33 diodes each contained within frosted
acrylic diffuser rings.
Both engine compartment vents are indirectly
lit for a fiery taillight effect.
This demonstrator was the main attraction among
all towboats at the Summer Boatshow. Peope literally oured
over this Supra.
