EARMARK specializes in the design and construction of corporate promotional vehicles. Many of these vehicles are created for mobile audio and video manufacturers or representatives. But many others use graphics, custom installation, and audio/video systems to bring attention to otherwise unrelated products and services.

We built this Boston Acoustics vehicle to circulate between car audio events throughout the five state area.

Q-form kick panels were added for the Boston Acoustics 2-way Pro separates. This placement positions the front speakers as far away from the listeners as possible and reduces the left to right bias thereby giving the best stereo image.

A second pair of 6 1/2-inch drivers were placed in the doors. These drivers operate in the midbass bandwidth only to deliver a little extra midbass kick and to bring the bass image forward so the rear subwoofers do not sound detached.

Ambient tweeters were installed in the windshield pillar trim. These tweeters aim away from the listeners as to avoid localization. The farthest tweeter is the most direct while the closest tweeter is the most indirect which serves to equalize the left to right amplitude. The ambient tweeters are sufficiently attenuated so that they raise the image and create a sense of depth without detracting from a balanced image. This works very well!
Two large Boston Acoustics amplifiers are flushed into the top of the subwoofer enclosure. All cables, interconnects and power distribution blocks are concealed.

The rear subwoofer enclosure features four B.A. Pro 12-inch subwoofers. Each of two V-shaped baffles are divided by a clear plexiglass window which is edge lit with an internal neon strip. The plexiglass dividers received an etched effect with Boston Acoustics’ logos.

While vinyl and carpet matched the interior scheme, the woofers and passive crossovers were set in a white laminate to accent the exterior auto finish. The crossovers are covered with a plexiglass window which sported a B.A. Pro .5 decal.

The Boston Acoustics demo truck presents a true custom installation that is also designed simple enough that most consumers can afford it.

This system was also engineered so that the vehicle was fully reversible when it was time to upgrade either the product or the vehicle.

With four twelves, two very large amps, double midbass and secondary ambient tweeters this system sounds great, hits hard and delivers the lowest notes with ease.
