Rear Quarter panel with motor assembly for rear hatch open and close. This assembly takes up the normal space we would use for a subwoofer. To compensate for this we built a combination fiberglass and MDF cabinet to get the required airspace. The jack which was mounted on the fender is relocated under the hood.
Mounting flanges for the jack are removed and sealed over with fiberglass. Road Kill sound damping is then applied so that the sheet metal does not pick up any vibrations and turn them into audible resonances inside the vehicle.
The entire surface of where the cabinet is in contact with the car body is then covered with carpet to ensure there are no rattles.
A Boston Pro 12” woofer is housed in the custom cabinet that is contoured to the vehicle. The front baffle, top and end caps are MDF. The back and curved areas around the motor assembly are fiberglass.
Finally a custom panel is manufactured, vinyl wrapped and dyed to mimic the factory interior.
Two Alpine amps are flushed into the cover that hides the metal seat base under the middle row seating. A 4 -channel amp powers 4 Boston Acoustic component speakers. The mono block amp is connected to the 12” subwoofer.
The running boards did not have step lights so 2 blue LEDs were added to each door and triggered off the door open circuit.
