| The Infiniti SUV security system features
a Viper GPS tracking system. In the event of an attempted
car theft, the instant the vehicle is hotwired or towed, satellite
GPS pinpoints the vehicle’s exact location. A two-way
link is in constant communication with the nearest cellular
tower as part of a nationwide 24-hour tracking network. With
the Stolen Vehicle Shutdown provision, the authorities can
apprehend the thieves and recover the vehicle safer and faster
while you watch over the internet. |

The
status LED is placed under the shade of the roof for excellent
daytime visibility. The LED is also centered so that it is
easily seen from both driver and passenger windows and without
obstruction from the steering column. We definitely want a
would-be thief to know immediately that this vehicle is protected.
|
 |
The GPS antenna receives radio frequency data through
glass and/or plastic. Thus, the GPS antenna is located under
the plastic portion of the dash at the forward section of
the windshield. Given the slant and extension of the windshield,
there is a clear shot from the GPS birds at all angles. |
 |
The under hood battery, as the vehicle’s sole power
source, is protected by a hood pin switch. A concealed back-up
battery (with its own charging module and diode isolation) provides
uninterrupted power to the security system in case a thief attempts
to cut power to disable the system. |
 |
Dual supplies with individual fuses isolate the base alarm
power from the power serving the peripheral devices. This procedure
eliminates a thief’s ability to disable the security brain
by shorting out flashing lights and other externally accessible
circuits or devices. Also, the security system power is tapped
prior to the vehicle’s fuse block so that a thief can’t
disable the security by simply pulling fuses from the interior
panel. |
 |
All
security wiring under the hood is camouflage in looming so that
it is indistinguishable from the factory wiring. EARMARK exclusively
uses high temperature automotive wiring for all under hood applications.
And of course, 100% of our connections are soldered and heat-shrunk
to guard against corrosion. |
 |
Upon re-assembly, there is no evidence that a security system
was installed. |
 |
The siren should be located away from turbos, exhaust manifolds
and other intensely hot engine components. The siren should
be oriented so that it will not fill up with water. And, the
siren should be positioned so that there is an unobstructed
path out of the engine compartment for maximum, unmuted output.
Of equal importance, a siren and its wiring should not be easily
accessible from underneath the vehicle. In this vehicle, the
siren is mounted up high behind the grill and forward of the
radiator. |
 |
With grill restored. |
 |
An EARMARK decal notifies thieves that this vehicle is
protected by an EARMARK-installed security system. An EARMARK
security system is more comprehensive and will take considerably
longer to disable thereby seriously raising the risk to would-be
thieves. |
