With the significant depreciation of a luxury
motorcoach it was extremely cost efficient for Earmark to
modernize this several-year-old model.
In the process we added electronic and entertainment amenities
far beyond what can be found as factory equipment on today’s
most lavish motorcoaches.
Located directly in front of the driver, we installed an
Alpine IVAD901 that displays navigational information as well
as giving the driver individual viewing and listening options.
Directly to the right of the console is a Kenwood Sirius satellite
receiver that provides 120 channels of satellite radio throughout
all areas inside and outside.
Kenwood Sirius controller housed in a custom dyed panel.
Located directly above the driver on both sides is a pair
of Boston Acoustics speakers. This zone is dedicated to the
driver and controlled by the Alpine multimedia source unit.
Directly above the driver is the audio/video control center.
The existing VCR was removed in favor of upgrading to a DVD
player. This was all integrated into the existing Bose audio
system. The concealed DVD player is controlled via an IR repeater
system with access throughout the entire Coach.
Within the audio/video control center is an RF transmitter
providing video signal to the kitchen and bathroom LCD’s.
On the driver side of the living area a couch conceals a subwoofer
amplifier that was added to give the front of the motorcoach
more low-end response. This was integrated into the Bose audio
system and supplemented the existing
Bose subwoofer.
With the couch cushion removed the amplifier is exposed. This
JL Audio monoblock amplifier provides power to a Boston Acoustics
Pro Series subwoofer located in the bottom shelf of the kitchen
cabinet.
Concealed in the kitchen cabinet the subwoofer radiates through
vents under the cabinet door.

This front to back view of the motorcoach provides prospective
of the floorplan. Notice the inconspicuous corner-mounted LCD
screen just above the dining table.
This 8.4” LCD monitor is mounted inside a custom housing
that’s protected by a lightly smoked acrylic front panel.
This is one of several monitors that receive a wireless video
signal from the cab’s audio/video control center.
For the purpose of access to entertainment wherever you go,
this 7” flat LCD monitor was flush-mounted directly above
the sink in the bathroom. The monitor is protected by a smoked
acrylic front panel. This LCD also receives a wireless video
signal from the cab’s audio/video control center. Both
the dinette and bathroom LCD’s disappear behind the acrylic
panels when inactive. When active the acrylic cover panels allow
for full brightness while cutting down on daytime glare.
The motorcoach rear bedroom.
The ceiling area of the bedroom now house three pair of Boston
Acoustics speakers. The speaker grills were dyed to match the
surrounding appointments. Two pair of speakers are for theater
sound while one pair is part of the whole-coach audio system.
The existing TV in the bedroom displays video from the DVD
player, satellite TV, and local TV broadcast. The TV also functions
as a demodulator for the multiplexed signals emanating from
the cab’s control center. The TV output is connected to
the CD receiver’s auxiliary input.
Directly above the bed is a mirrored wall that contains a
storage cabinet. This provided an ideal location for the bedroom’s
audio components.
This cabinet received modifications to fit an Alpine CD receiver,
6-disc CD/MP3 changer and a 6-channel JL Audio amplifier. The
amplifier drives the Boston Acoustics speakers in the ceiling
and two 10-inch JL Audio subwoofers.
The JL Audio subwoofers are concealed below a motorized panel
located in the base of the bed.
The two woofers are loaded in downfiring enclosures located
on both sides of the house safe. These woofers radiate through
custom vents that we introduced on the underside of the bed’s
baseboard.
This cargo bay hatch conceals the exterior audio/video entertainment
center.
We designed and hand built the exterior entertainment system
cabinet to be very user friendly even though it serves multiple,
complex functions. Incorporated in this unit are 3 storage drawers
on the left side of the cabinet. The Phillips 32-inch LCD is
protected by an acrylic front panel. The center panel under
the LCD is the port for a JL Audio subwoofer enclosure that
is concealed at the rear of the cabinet.
An IR target is located just above the LCD. The target is
normally concealed by the cover panel. The target allows full
control of the interior audio/video components.
On the left side and underneath the LCD a custom panel with
a sliding door contains a 110 volt outlet and gameport. The
panel also houses a line-level bass control for the JL Audio
monoblock amplifier.
On the opposite side of the cabinet’s lower section
is another panel that houses a second 110 volt outlet plus audio
jacks for a pair of outdoor Bose speakers. These outdoor speakers
and their pedestals are normally stored away in one of the cargo
bays. Long extension cables allow the Bose speakers to be placed
up to fifty feet away.
All of the other cabinets within the undercarriage were recovered
in
matching laminate as part of our restoration. Many of the existing
cabinets had chipped faces so we added protective aluminum channels
to the bottom edge.
All audio/video components located throughout the entire coach
are controlled via this full color Pronto Pro NG remote control.
We programmed screen icons and multi-function macros to maximize
convenience and ease of operation.
