Quad tower speakers, subwoofer, auxiliary battery,
four tower lights, eight courtesy lights and a custom powdercoated
tower are just a few of the upgrades on this twin engine jetboat.
First we removed the brushed aluminum tower. We welded four
aluminum halogen light brackets directly to the tower. Then
we had the tower powdercoated in a high gloss black to coincide
with the black hull.
Four
black halogen lights are integrated into the tower with a minimum
of mass and exposing wiring.
Four
individual black bullet-shaped aluminum pods adorn the tower.
The outside position alleviates clearance issues with the biminy
top and also keeps the profile low for easy dry storage access.
The 10-inch subwoofer enclosure is water-resistant due to
a triple coating of fiberglass resin over a non-water-soluble
lumber product. The enclosure is wrapped in marine grade carpet
and elevated off the soul of the locker to ensure its integrity
is maintained permanently. Three aluminum brackets secure the
enclosure.
A vent under the passenger side dash allows the bass radiation
from the concealed subwoofer to flow freely.
We constructed a birch amplifier panel clad in matching
marine carpet. While one amplifier drives the subwoofer the
other drives the four tower speakers.
A
dual battery switch was added along with a group 27 deep cycle
auxiliary battery. The second battery was mounted in the opposite
transom locker.
Concealed
in the glove box and next to the factory CD player a switch turns
on and off the tower speakers.
A marine switch protected by a watertight boot
is mounted in the driver’s combing pocket. This switch
controls relays that handle the current drawn by the four tower-mounted
halogen lamps.
Red LED courtesy lights illuminate the dual drink
holders in each of the cockpit combing pockets.
Red
LED step lights cast light over the drink holders on each side
of the bow. With their small size the lighting group is easily
overlooked but their effect is big!
Red
LED step lights on each side at the very back of the cockpit.
Red
LED step lights far forward in the cockpit.
Eight
red LED clusters illuminate the drink holders plus outline
the deck for safety at night. Red was selected to tie into
the red graphic accents in the boat’s hull.

For contrast here are several other Yamaha wakeboard boats
with different color tower schemes.
