A motorcoach has unique security requirements versus an automobile.
For one, it is ineffective from a cost standpoint to route
hardwired sensors from all of the remote locations to a centralized
brain. Motorcoaches have multiple cargo bays and numerous
vulnerable points to protect. Standard automotive sensors
and switches do not translate well to a motorcoach. When the
situation dictates, EARMARK uses wireless sensors and an RF
receiver to connect devices over long distances. This eliminates
the need to route wires through solid bulkheads and solid
stringers where wires were not designed to pass. Also, more
sophisticated multi-channel receivers are available to aid
diagnostics and provide a localized event history.
Many motorcoaches have a factory-equipped exterior keyless
entry touchpad. Standard alarms do not communicate with this
feature making remote control lock and unlock operations clumsy
or redundant. EARMARK provides all of these interface options.
